Pre-Workout Chocolate Granola
This granola is extra chocolatey from the cacao! Cacao stimulates a serotonin release which will keep you mentally focused during your workout and the oats provide a slow release energy to fuel your entire workout!
Mix 2 cups oats, 1 cup raw almonds, 1/4 cup cacao nibs, and 1 cup large coconut flakes in a bowl. Next, melt and combine on low 4 tbsp coconut oil, 3 heaping tbsp raw cacao powder, 3 tbsp pure maple syrup and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Heat oven to 325F and spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, stir then bake for 10-15 minutes longer (until crisp). Be sure the watch your granola in the second half. It can burn very easily!!
