Life Lately: Spring Update

Hey everyone! I’ve started posting again on the blog a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be more excited about it. There were a number of reasons why I stopped posting this winter, which hopefully I will be able to open up and share with you guys soon (self-healing is a task and a half). In the meantime, I wanted to update you all on what I’ll be up to this spring, the things I’m loving and what’s inspiring me. You know, gal pal stuff!

City Life

Toronto is starting to come alive again after all winter. People are starting to flock to the parks and you can actually lounge outside again, comfortably. Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect west-end apartment! We aren’t in a big rush to move because we do like our place now, just not such fans of the location. I’m dreaming of an older apartment with tons of character, lots of natural light and a cute outdoor space to string up some lights and plant a little garden! ✨

Things I’m loving

Reading: The Last Conversation You’ll Ever Need to Have About Eating Right on Grub Street and Genius Foods by Max Lugavere.

Wearing: Outdoor Voices ⅞ Dipped Warmup Legging with matching Slashback Crop I picked up in New York and my all-time favorite black Mango leather jacket (similar here) for spring. The cute denim jacket I'm wearing in these photos was designed by my talented friend at Good Genes!

Eating: Baddies. Specifically, splitting the avocado toast to start & the french toast for dessert with my BFF, Sam. Yes, we have it figured out in the food department.

Health + Wellness

Lately, it has been brought to my attention that I haven't been eating the most sustainable for our planet. Because of that and my natural curiosity for figuring out whats best for my health, I’ve decided to test out a plant-based diet for the next few months. Healthwise, I'd like to see if I can get my energy and moods levels up naturally to depend less on supplementation. Since I’m terrible with labels and restrictions, my goal is to eat 80% plant-based, with the exception of cage-free organic eggs, some wild caught fish and a little room for error! I’m really excited to see how my body will adapt to this lifestyle change and I'm ready to take on the challenge of making new recipes. I will post along the way to let you know how it's going!

The other part of my wellness routine that needs some TLC is my fitness routine. This winter, I was dedicated to group classes, especially spin. But truthfully my body doesn’t thrive off of cardio all that much. I need to be incorporating 4-5 weighted sessions a week to feel my best! Before I moved to Toronto a year ago I grew tired of my gym routine and started using Classpass when I got here to test out new workouts here in the city. I actually find it quite difficult to stick to a routine when I’m changing up the classes and I’m not feeling as strong as I used to physically and mentally. So, back to the gym, I go!
