Fuel Your Body With FAT

Are you feeling hungry shortly after you eat? Or, are you just not feeling satisfied and are picking at food all day long? Up until a few months ago, that was me. I just wasn’t staying full and I would be constantly in search of a snack or scouring the cupboards for something sweet. I have noticed a huge difference in my body and eating pattern since I started to incorporate healthy fats into every meal, especially in my breakfast. I stay full for much longer, my cravings are minimal and I feel more focused and creative during the day!

Fats have gotten such a bad reputation over the years and I’m sure we have all gone through some “fat-free” consciousness thanks to the nineties, but the truth is that fat is incredible for you! Most of the foods we find in our supermarkets that are “fat-free” are just pumped with sugar or other additives to make up for the loss of flavor and substance. So we really haven’t been doing ourselves any good here.

I am by no means suggesting that you start buying the full-fat options again at your supermarket. No, no, no! Instead, I just want you all to be aware of the energizing, brain empowering and immunity building benefits of eating healthy fats.

The healthy fats we have been avoiding due to high calories and other myths are so critical for allowing our bodies to absorb fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients and cleanse our systems of the fat-soluble toxins. I’m sure you have all heard that fat is brain food. Well, that’s because our brains are made up of 60% fat, and the fat you eat literally feeds your brain, aiding its functions and your mental clarity that enables you to live a healthy and happy life.

As a rule of thumb, I make sure to incorporate one source of healthy fat such as avocado, coconut, nuts, seeds, fish, eggs, grass-fed butter or olive oil into every single meal. Doing this has definetly upped my health game and I'm sure it will help you too! I just had to share this with you because I know that there is nothing worse than feeling unsatified and hungry! This way you can stay full, energized, and away from the treat cupboard!
