Peaches & Cream Sourdough Toast - Kris Gill

This past weekend, my close friends and I booked a car and took off on an adventure out of the city! We ended up spending the day in Niagara on the lake and coming across a lovely little farmers market put off by the locals. The place was filled with seasonal produce, cut flowers and smelled of basil and freshly baked bread...mmm! I followed my nose all the way to the back of the market and came across a table that was selling the best sourdough I've ever tried and thick decadent slices with all sorts of toppings. Because it's peach season here in Ontario, I left the market with a loaf under my arms and a heavenly slice of their peach toast with sweetened ricotta, mascarpone, and candied nuts. After the first bite, I knew I had to recreate this at home and share with you lot! 

To make this toast a little lighter, I decided to make a sweet 'cream' using Greek yogurt, honey and cinnamon. To be honest, it was much better this way to eat for breakfast as the original is very sweet, more of a dessert. Of course, if you have a sweet tooth, you can always add a touch more honey to yours.

Peaches & Cream Sourdough Toast - Kris Gill


  • 2 thick slices of sourdough bread - I used a double fermented 12 grain 
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt 
  • 2 tsp runny honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 ripe peach sliced 

*Makes 2 slices 


Start preparing your 'cream' by mixing together the yogurt, 1 tsp of honey and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Next, lightly toast your your sourdough pieces. While the bread is toasting, slice your juicy peach into slices.

Now it's time to assemble! Top the toast with the sweet yogurt mixture, layer on the peaches, drizzle the remaining honey and sprinkle on the cinnamon and hemp seeds. Enjoy! xx
