Honey Nut Hummus

Honey Nut Hummus - Kris Gill


1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Juice of ½ lemon

Pinch of sea salt

¼ cup tahini

2-3 tbsp runny honey

¼ cup ice water

Avocado or olive oil

2 tbsp pomegranate seeds

2 tbsp sliced almonds


  1. Rinse and drain chickpeas.

  2. In the bowl of a food processor add chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, honey, salt and process for a few minutes until creamy. Add ¼ cup ice water and process again.

  3. Once hummus is smooth and creamy, pour in a healthy drizzle of avocado oil while machine is running. Taste; add additional lemon, honey or salt if necessary.

  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and finish with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of pomegranates and your sliced almonds. Serve with your favourite crunchy snack, such as, crackers, rice cakes, hard apple or carrots.
