Festive Spiced Granola

Festive Spice Granola - Kris Gill


  • 1 cup dates, soaked in hot water

  • ½ cup tahini

  • date soaking water

  • 3 cups oats

  • 1 cup nuts (I used almonds), very roughly chopped

  • ½ cup dried cranberries

  • ½ cup raisins

  • ½ cup sunflower seeds

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ginger

  • a pinch of nutmeg


Preheat the oven to 300°F. Mix dates, tahini (and date soaking water if needed) in a food processor or blender until smooth. Add all the dry ingredients in a very large bowl and toss. Now it’s time to get your hands dirty! Mix the tahini date paste until all dry ingredients are coated. Spread the granola evenly on a parchment paper and press it flat with your hand. Bake the granola for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and deliciously smelling of warm spices! Let cool, and break apart to desired chunk sizes. Keep in an airtight container.
