One of things I’ve been doing lately to stay well is getting outside in the sunshine without SPF for at least 20 minutes a day.

It’s the ultimate mood booster! When our skin is exposed to sunlight, we produce vitamin D when the suns UVB rays hit the cholesterol in our skin cells! Vitamin D is essential for producing our mood boosting happy hormone, aka serotonin.
⁣⁣
Of course it’s important to be sun safe, but be sure to allow your body to absorb some UVB rays naturally to the skin without a UVB blocking sunscreen! AND be mindful of your skin colour - lighter skin requires less time, while darker skin will take longer to absorb! ⁣

One more quick tip. Did you know that we even absorb vitamin d through our eyes? If you’re the type to always have sunnies on, walk around for a few minutes with them on your head to take in all that sunshine bliss!
